3) Poems, Prayers & Promises

A romantic quote to elevate your mood or to help you find the right sentiment for your vows or ceremony.

"Your lips speak soft sweetness,
Your touch a cool caress,
I am lost in your magic,
My heart beats within your chest,

I think of you each morning,
And dream of you each night,
I think of your arms being around me,
And cannot express my delight,

Never have I fallen,
But I am quickly on my way,
You hold a heart in your hands,
That has never before been given away.

4) Kim's Wedding Tips!

We recently tied those knots and have tips, tricks and to be avoided stories to share:

A Word Or Two About The Flowers...

I feel that the best way to make the most of your flower budget is to shop, shop, SHOP!!! When you find someone you trust and think is "reasonable" ( be advised that this is a term used with some latitude), Question the person incessantly in your interview and then LISTEN. A good florist will help you make the most of whatever your budget is. I wanted to carry Calla lilies in the end of July in an outdoor wedding. One of the reasons I chose my florist (the fourth I interviewed) is because he was the only one to tell me that if I was careful, they would only last though the ceremony. Calla lilies literally melt and turn brown in the heat. I ended up with sugar Calla lilies on my cake and a bouquet of all white roses and orchids which was not only stunning, but also more in keeping with my wedding theme and cost me less. Another way they can help is to tell you which flowers are in season (and therefore less expensive) as well as mixing in filler flowers, such as carnations in among your choicer flowers, in the larger displays to give you more bang for your buck. When you interview know what you want, but be flexible enough to allow them to exceed your expectations!

5) A Wedding Tradition Explained!

The first kiss as Husband and Wife dates back to the earliest days of civilization in the Middle East. A kiss was used as the formal seal to agreements, contracts, etc. In Ancient Rome a kiss finalized the contract and made the union legally binding. Hence the obvious use of the custom at the end of the wedding ceremony to "seal" the marriage vows.
